Human-headed winged lion, around 865 - 860 BC, Nimrud, Northwest palace, room B, door a, panel 2
A pair of these flanked the doorway to the throne room of the palace of Ashurnasirpal II (883 - 859 BC). Its five legs suggest that it was meant to be viewed from either the front or the side, and not from an intermediate angle.
